Twelve days is enough to see the Mughal north, the Rajput kingdoms and India's holiest city without feeling rushed. You travel by road through Agra and Rajasthan, then fly from Udaipur to Varanasi for two nights on the Ganges.

Every stop can be lengthened, shortened or swapped — for example, Ranthambore instead of Pushkar, or Jaisalmer instead of Varanasi.

Highlights

Questions about this tour

Is this tour too much for twelve days?

It is a full journey, but with no more than one long drive in a row and two nights in most places. If you prefer a slower pace, add a night in Udaipur or Jaipur.

Can we do it in reverse?

Yes. Starting with Varanasi works well too; we plan the direction around your international flights.

What is the best time of year?

October to March has the most comfortable weather across this route. April to June is very hot in Rajasthan and Varanasi, and July to September is the monsoon.
